| Auditions - Badlands Passion Play 2019 - All Roles/Musicians Production Description: Heading into it’s 26th year, The Badlands Passion Play (situated in scenic Drumheller) is a large scale outdoor, musical-based production depicting the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, with a full band, over 120 actors and animals onstage, playing to up to 2000 people a night over 9 performances in July. The cast and band are made up of paid performers and a multitude of volunteer performers. The show is written by Barrett Hileman (book & lyrics) and Luke Ertman (music) Rehearsals start, May 9th for lead roles and musicians and May 17th for ensemble roles. Rehearsals are held Thursdays to Sundays for lead roles and band and Fridays to Sundays for ensemble roles. Performances are: July 5 - 7, 12 - 14 & 19 - 21 All ages and levels of experience are welcome to audition. PAID roles are available as well as volunteer roles. Equity Members are welcome to audition and if successful will be contracted under the DOT agreement. Lead roles as well as ensemble roles are available. Those who have auditioned before and/or have been in the show before are welcome to audition again. If you are unable to come to auditions but would still like to be considered for a role please let us know and we will try to accommodate you. Auditions will be held at Evergreen Community Spaces (1709 8th Ave NE, Calgary AB.) in the Elm Studio, on Saturday October 20th from 9am - 8pm & Sunday October 21st from 1:30pm to 4:30pm. All actors must prepare a musical theatre song that best displays their range and must be prepared to do a cold read in the room from the script. All musicians should prepare a Jazz or classical song and be prepared to read music in the room and play from the score. If you play more then one instrument please feel free to bring whichever you feel you want to audition with. Musicians we are looking for: Violin Viola Cello Flute Clarinet Oboe Trumpet Harp Piano Guitar (Electric and Acoustic) Electric Bass Upright Bass Percussion For a full list of roles we are looking to fill or any questions please feel free to email actors@badlandsamp.com A keyboard will be provided, but an accompanist will not.
