| AUDITION NOTICE ABSENCE Written and directed by Val Lieske Audition Date: Tuesday December 16th 6:00-9:30 pm Audition Location: Alberta Bible College – 635 Northmount Dr. NW PLEASE PREPARE: One (1) 60-second contemporary comedic or dramatic monologue. You may be asked to cold read. BOOK YOUR AUDITION with val@fireexit.ca Play Summary: The story of ABSENCE comes from a lifetime of following a quiet God. A God that does not speak from a pillar of cloud or a tower of fire. A God that does not send His angels down to wrestle us into belief. At least not anymore. The God of the North American Christian seems quiet silent, some may argue, absent. The daily news seems to proclaim that he has left the building. This production explores through word and dance, the power of asking questions, of crying out to our Creator, of seeking clarity in our journey. This journey is profoundly beautiful in it’s messiness. * A co-production with Corps Bara Dance Theatre. Character Breakdown: ZITA: Female JACOB: Male LICIA: Female These characters are sharp, witty, sarcastic, sometimes irreverent and are desperately seeking God. Ages can range from between 20-50…it will be cast on chemistry.
