Prepare one monologue no longer that 3 minutes

We have five plays this year so there are lots of roles! The plays are listed below with a short synopsis and character breakdown.

Mishaps and Misfits by Zahra Damji and Salima Wali

Deceptive measures ripple through this tale of love, friendship, trust, and revenge. In this case, the old adage "keep your friends close but your enemies closer" may need to be reversed.

Kirsten (Wife) – a nurse (Late 20's)

Seth (Husband) – a game tester (Late 20's)

Gwen (Sister-in-law) – fashionista, student at NYU (Late 20's)

Nicole (Mutual friend) – works in marketing (Late 20's)

The Good and Faithful Servant by Maria Crooks
Bigotry comes in many forms, and it is driven by fear. The Good and Faithful Servant shows us the lightening speed with which good, decent and caring people can give in to their fear, prejudge another and descend into the depths of racial hatred.
Margaret, Canadian. Late 30’s early 40’s
Richard, Canadian. Margaret’s husband. Mid-40’s
Juanita: Jamaican maid. Mid-30’s to mid-50’s
Johanna: English. Mid 30’s

Teen mother Amber is struggling to care for an unplanned baby and an abusive partner. But what Amber trusts will be an arrangement that cares for her baby while supporting her as she tries to become a better parent turns into a nightmare of carelessness, biases, miscommunications and hidden agendas.
Amber –late teens, mother of Baby Kayla

Drew – early 20’s, father of Baby Kayla

*Bethany – 20’s, social worker for Children’s Protective Services

*Lana – a female voice, not seen

Sandra – 30’s-50’s, adoptions worker for Child Protective Services

*John – a male voice, not seen

Judith – 40’s- 50’s, foster mother

*Police Officer- male, 30’s- 40’s

*Reporter – female, any age

*Cameraman- male, non-speaking, any age

*Judge –male or female, 50’s (possible voice only/not seen)

A mother and daughter struggle with a strained relationship which has left them both afraid and unable to trust love.
Anne: 23. The daughter
Helen: 46. The mother
Tom: 25. Anne's boyfriend

But It's Art by George Freek
An insecure artist believes her straight-laced husband is having an affair. Hilarity ensues when she investigates, causing many miscommunications and misunderstandings among her circle of friends.
