Hard to overdose on a handful of Fred and Wilma’s. He’s desperate to protect me from myself. I’m desperate to protect him from me.” Jules wants to die, but she’s never really lived. When you take life into your own hands…be prepared for a handful. A story about choosing life while waiting for death, of loving when you’re sure of loss and believing Jesus will never break up with you. JULES: 35. A strong voice and sharp wit and a good dose of sarcasm. A bit of a loner. Is afraid of touch. Not religious, but seeking God. NATE: 36. Jules’ boyfriend of 8 months. A kind vegetarian. Soft-spoken and caring to the point of extreme. A romantic. GARRETT: 61 Jules’ dad. A little rough around the edges. A man’s man. REHEARSALS When: Rehearsals will run Wednesdays & Thursdays and some Saturdays. Beginning March 2nd. Val is the co-founder and Artistic Director of Fire Exit Theatre. She also works with Centre Street Church as the Director of Theatre Arts and as Executive Producer, with Alberta Playwrights’ Network, Alberta Bible College and as a freelance writer, speaker and performer. She feeds her passion for theatre through acting, directing, writing, and producing. She has also worked as a publicist, casting director, and coach, helping people find their passion and live it. Her writing credits include, Coffee Talk, God’s Attention, Bruised Not Broken, Flesh & Bones and Duty to Warn. Her book, “Crossroads Cafe” was listed as by the Calgary Herald, as one of the top ten best selling books in Calgary. Pervious directing credits include Waco T. 1953, God’s Favorite, Flesh & Bones, First Church of Texaco, This Waking Moment and Assistant Director Evelyn Strange with Vertigo Theatre, winner of 2010 Outstanding Production of a Play.
