Hitting the High Notes Vocal Workshop with Donald Bell Calling all shy sopranos, aspiring altos, tentative tenors and bashfull bass/baritones! SYNOPSIS: Have you always had trouble reachnig for those high notes? Maybe felt that your upper register had more in common with a chicken squawking than a nightingale trilling? Donald will be introducing participants to new approaches and information which can be applied to old habits. Sense of humour, open attitude and boundless enthusiasm required! INSTRUCTOR BIO: Donald Bell is a Professor in the Department of Music at the University of Calgary, specializing in singing and vocal performance. After 25 years of performing in a total of 23 countries, Mr. Bell returned to Canada and began a teaching career, first in Ottawa and later in Calgary, where he currently lives. Donald Bell has researched and published extensively in the field of vocal pedagogy and his students benefit from his international associations in this field. Many are now voice teachers and perform internationally. DATE: Sunday April 18, 10am to 2:30pm 1/2 hour lunch break - please bring your own food.
