Musical Theatre Intensive Workshop: "Taking it to the next level" with Tory Doctor Saturday December 12th, 2009 10:00 – 4:30 How to take your audition/party pieces and make them reach their potential Synopsis: Tory will be working with participants on prepared pieces; exploring ways to enhance their work and raise their performances to the “next level”. Focus will be on finding the truth of the piece both with individual coaching and using interactive group dynamics. This workshop will be a valuable addition to any musical theatre artist’s arsenal, whether you are looking to polish an audition piece/party piece or bring more to a performance you are currently rehearsing. This workshop requires a prepared musical theatre piece. We ask that you submit a copy of your sheet music (in the correct key!) in advance to allow the accompanist sufficient time to rehearse your piece. Presenter: Tory Doctor has spent the last 16 years performing all over the world. Some stage credits include Beauty and the Beast, Grease, Disney's Encore, Anne of Green Gables, A Christmas Carol, Married Alive, Cinderella, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Legends, Man of La Mancha, My Fair Lady, Guys and Dolls, The Wizard of Oz, Me and My Girl and Cameron MackIntosh's Hey Mr. Producer. He has also been a guest Teacher at high schools, colleges and Universities across North America. His passionate approach to theatre and the arts coupled with the wisdom garnered throughout his career, makes for the perfect blend of experience, approach and understanding. Tory is also currently working on a musical based on the Story of Jack the Ripper with Canadian Author Jack Whyte and American Composer David Zabriskie. Go to www.torydoctor.ca for more information.
