| Morpheus Theatre will be holding Auditions for: The Importance of Being Earnest A Comedy by Oscar Wilde Set in England during the late Victorian era, the play’s humour derives in part from characters maintaining fictitious identities to escape unwelcome social obligations. It is replete with witty dialogue and satirizes the foibles and hypocrisy of late Victorian society. It has proven to be Wilde’s most enduring play – wittily revolving around the most ingenious case of “manufactured” mistaken identity ever put on stage. Performances will be September 4 - 12, 2009 at the Pumphouse Theatre. Rehearsals will take place throughout the summer (Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays), beginning the end of June. Flexibility will be built into the schedule but please be prepared to commit fully to the rehearsal process.
