| You’ve been cast – Now What? Character Development with Valerie Planche Saturday, April 18th, 2009 10:00 – 4:30 Synopsis: This workshop will focus on creating believable and interesting characters using a variety of techniques. We will be exploring text, rhythm, language, movement, and MORE! If you’ve ever wanted to gain more experience in developing a character, or are looking to expand your acting arsenal – this workshop is for you! Presenter: Valerie is a director and a teacher. As a director, she garnered 3 Betty Mitchell nods (Best Production, Best Supporting Actress and Best Actress) for Thy Neighbor’s Wife for Urban Curvz Theatre. She has facilitated acting classes for the last 20 years with MRC, U of C, Company of Rogues and many more studios in Calgary. In 2009 she performed in The Globe Theatre’s Sexy Laundry in Regina and Frozen for Sage Theatre and will be doing her 1st Musical for Downstage Theatre Society, Piper. *This workshop is sponsored by Theatre Alberta with funding from The Alberta Foundation for the Arts All our workshops are geared to community theatre volunteers both from on-stage, and off-stage aspects of production. All workshops are open to the public and are held either Saturday or Sunday at the Community Arts Centre on the Currie Barracks (2633 Hochwald Avenue SW). Workshops are only $30 each for a full day of instruction (discounts available for groups of 5 or more, or for attending 3 workshops, please contact Morpheus Theatre for more details).
