Full Monty Audition Notice: Dewdney Players Group Theatre

Dewdney Players Group Theatre is seeking male and female actors (ages 20 - 50+) and one male youth actor (Age 12-14ish) to fill roles for the upcoming production of Simon Beaufoy’s original play THE FULL MONTY.

Please contact the director Sherene Seders at sds9902@gmail.com if you have any questions

ABOUT THE SHOW:
While spying on their wives at a "Girls' Night Out," a group of unemployed steelworkers sees how much they enjoy watching male strippers. Jealous, out of work and feeling emasculated, the men come up with a bold and unclothed way to make some quick cash. In preparing, they find themselves extremely exposed; not merely physically but emotionally. As they conquer their fears, self-consciousness and prejudices, the men come to discover that they're stronger as a group, and the strength that they find in each other gives them the individual courage to "let it go."

All roles are open to audition. Auditions will take place at Aldersyde Hall (102 Dennis Street, Aldersyde, AB)

AVAILABLE ROLES:
THE MONTY MEN
If you are auditioning to be a "Monty Man" you need to be comfortable enough to perform (this includes simple dance choreography) on stage in your underwear, a g-string and eventually, "the Full Monty". Trust is a key word for our production - you will be taken care of respectfully and our final moment will be powerful, yet careful. Wear clothing to auditions that reveals your overall body shape accurately. You will not need to undress at auditions.

Monty Men will be featured in a charity calendar in support of men's mental health. Photos will be taken in early July.
