The UCalgary Operetta Company is a non-profit, volunteer-based community theatre dedicated to providing quality theatre experiences to a wide-range of audience members. The UCalgary Operetta Company has been putting on full-length musical theatre and opera performances since 2006. The company, has seen huge growth and success over its last several seasons in production. With recent credit including West Side Story, Miss Saigon, Dido & Aeneas and Trial by Jury, there is never a dull moment on-stage. We have been putting on least two full-scale musical theatre and opera productions annually in the University Theatre - at Craigie Hall. Combine 40+ cast members, 25+ pit orchestra musicians and a full backstage crew - you'll begin to get a glimpse of our shows.

Working closely with both Jeremy Brown and Bill Jordan, as heads of the Music Department, to ensure the continual resources and full support of the music department, we continue to mount great production projects. The goal of this company is to provide a great platform for performance in a non-recital atmosphere. We are the ensemble that gives music students (and anyone who want to audition from the university and community) the opportunity to perform in both musical theatre style as well as classic opera style shows each year.

Auditions are open to the public. Our ticket prices make a very cost effective evening for theatre-goers as we strive to over-deliver with an exception product for a market leading price.
