| You are invited to audition for the upcoming world premier of "Shepherd", a musical written by Calgarians Marian Hamilton and Tony Matthews. It is the story of the shepherds in Bethlehem at Christmas. Characters: Jesse - a young man 15-20 Rachel - a young woman 15-20 Rueben - father of Jesse Hannah - mother of Jesse Basha, Ezra. Jacob- young men 15-20 Zedekiah - head shepherd Sarah - girl 6-8 Issac- father of Sarah Ruth - mother of Sarah Gabriel - adult angel Rebecca - adult innkeeper Naomi - young flirty woman 18+ Mary, Joseph - non speaking Chorus - multi-age There are speaking roles, chorus numbers and the leads have solos or duets. We are an inclusive group and love to have a multi-age cast, often ranging from 6-76. For the audition: - prepare a song (there will be a pianist available or a speaker for techno gadgets) - cold reading - repeat a short dance Auditions will be held on Mondays and Tuesdays on Aug. 21/22, 28/29 and Sept. 4/5 from 6:30 - 8:30.
